Can you hear the rain?
It's whispering again
Speaking of questions unanswered
And wounds that will never mend

A new day is dawning,
Sails unfurling in the breeze
Free, moving towards the sun
The colours I can almost seize.

It's warm and bright
But I see a different hue
A ribbon of shadow
I can't see through

I don't want to go on
If you're not with me
Where are you? The rain
Is beating down on me

Lost in this dark,
I sit here, alone.
I need something; I'm empty
I need a place to call home.

After all this loss,
And pain and contempt
I still wait for a new day
But a day was never sent.

So the rain falls down
And whispers again
A voice that will always come
My one and only friend.

The days stay the same,
But the wounds start to mend
'Where are you?' I cry
but I know
A light has been sent.
